While I did not spend a great deal of time in the Beta, I did notice one thing the other day. As a quest reward I saw the choice between a Mace and a Staff, and it made me happy. Two years, well, feels like two years, of having a Dagger as our only weapon, the only thing we could transmog to, felt like we were being punished. Sure it was supposed to be a claw, and all of the alternate skins might have looked decent while “not” in Shadowform, there really is not much you can do to a fancy hooked claw that has a neon purple outline over a dark shadowy effect.
Speaking of neon purple outlines, I also noticed that now we are more smokey, and the effect was kind of cool. What I worry about is that Battle for Azeroth may be ramping up graphics to a point where I will need to start lowering my settings once again. I understand that they need to make improvements, but the thought of needing to buy not one, but two gaming computers every 4-5 years is starting to become an issue. Even staggered over 2-2 1/2 year intervals, its a significant investment, just to play a game.
Not much else going on, I got my Artifact Weapon to level 126, the iLvL didn’t change because I have crap relics, and I noticed the Artifact Power levels were increasing, looks like if I just let it run it was heading to a level of 4,000,000,000,000,000. Yep, that’s 4 Quadrillion or 4×1015. Yeah, there was no way an average player was ever going to get close to maxing the weapon out to that level. Not even a hardcore player I am sure.
So we have 40 some odd days, it is looking like July 10th or 17th will be the start of the pre-expansion stuff, and I will have to start thinking about actually buying the expansion, even though spending $100 for two right now is not exactly something I can really afford.
